Hey there, I'm Nat and I'm in the process of putting together my kit to become a Snowtrooper. I'm in Ottawa, Canada's very snowy capital city, so I figure it's fitting.
Hoping to learn lots of great tips in the forum for weathering my outfit and armour, as well as for putting together my DLT-19 blaster. This isn't my first rodeo for costume and prop-making, but my first try at getting something up to snuff to apply for the 501st. I want to make sure everything is as accurate as possible, as well as able to withstand the actual snowy and cold climate once winter rolls around.
Hello from Ottawa!

Thanks very much for the welcome! I agree, it's always a good idea to build a snowtrooper. It's nice to have a reason to look forward to winter here, though. It lasts nearly half the year so it's quite brutal.Captain_Wordo wrote: Sun Jun 14, 2026 6:05 am Hi Nat and welcome to the Blizzard Force detachment!

Looks like a lot of good info on these forums- it's a bit overwhelming. Do you have any advice on where to look for a duster pattern? I've browsed through the Cloth goods section and there are tons of great reference photos, but I can't find a link to a pattern for it.
