Hello from PA Soldier

Post by Franzberg27 »

Hi, I am currently in the army. I was injured, and am going to be discharged. I have always wanted to get into this, but never did, and I figured that I would like to now that I am going to be having more time on my hands. I dont know when I'll be out, army is good that way, but I wanted to see what my first step should be in starting this.

thank you for the help

Hey Red, I'm sorry to hear about your situation. I just got out of the army reserves in December. Unfortunately I know too well how long a Medboard can take to process soldiers out. It sucks.

Have you decided which costume you want to build? Do you feel your injury will have an impact on what you want to dress as?

Deciding what you want to do is the hard part, but then you can plan for cost and research how to put one together

Hey I was medboarded from the Navy a year ago. You should let them take their time, unless you have a job on the outside already. I was able to put my scout together and troop while I was still active. Extra time off work helps, can really knock stuff out.

Thank you for the responses. My injury is with crushed discs and they're pressing against my spine. Physically, I dont think it would impact me much because I didn't think I would be doing anything too physically trying.

I want to put together a regular snow trooper.

How much do I (or should I) save before beginning? The whole price aspect is a bit elusive to me
