Hello! My name is Nishaad, I'm in the 501st currently, but I don't have any kits yet. Although, I do plan on getting a Galactic Marine kit. Im still a bit confused to why they're here, but i suppose its because the build is similar to snowtroopers.
I plan on making a canon kit, as well as a different helmet for it.

The Galactic Marines are quite relevant to the Blizzard Force, much to people's disbelief, they in fact perform in the same function as a "cold assault trooper" as the original Snowtrooper. If you read about Mygeeto, in which they're presented in ROTS, it is a snow-ice planet. In other non-film story arcs, they are equally used elsewhere.
Additionally, per star wars.com.

We kinda of think the Galactic Marines are the grandfathers of Snowtroopers!!!
They are one of the most exclusive costumes you can make, very few exist relative to our other Detachment costumes. Good luck with your research and build!
