Hello from Australia

Hi Guys

I'm 'Red Empress' a member of the 501st, Redback Garrison, Australia. My other costume is a Royal Guard. I am originally from England but love the sunshine so now live in Tropical North Queensland. A bit hot for a snowie maybe but I've always wanted to be a snowtrooper so here I am! I am looking for advice on where to buy my duster and trousers. I have also heard that the Mukluk boots run two sizes big. Is this true? I'm a UK size 6, US 9 so I would want a US 7?? Looking forward to chatting to you all and getting my snowtrooper outfit.

Thanks in advance for all your help :D

Hi there and welcome to the Blizzard Force detachment!

It's always a good idea to build a snowtrooper, there cannot be enough of the undefeated men and women of the empire out there ;)

For a duster you could have a look at the trading section: http://blizzardforce.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=42

Karate pants would be okay, some troopers use lightweight chinos instead.

Yes, we recommend to buy Mukluks 2 to 3 sizes smaller. Especially in Australia you won't use the thick inner liner ;)

Good luck with your build and stay frosty!

Hey Louise
I'm in the Redbacks too, in Brisbane so I don't think we've met yet.
Welcome to the coolest detachment in the galaxy! Great choice for a snowie, and you'll be used to the heat with the Red Guard gear, so the snowie will be a bit cooler.

Trousers - just find plain white or off white karate pants or cricket pants.

Yes the mukluks are quite big, your calculation is right, go down 2 sizes. If they are still too big, I have put a thong/flip flop base in my boots with the plug removed, and it stops my feet sliding around in the big boots.

For a duster, I actually have a spare one at home, its weathered and all. Depends on what size and height you are, I would be happy to sell it to you, I've not worn it yet! Otherwise I can get you a few links to makers in the States.

Have you decided on the brand of hard armour to get?

Anything you need we're here to help!
Cheers
Rach
