Hello from the UK

Hello everyone,
I am new here, but have been costuming a good few years as a Jedi and a few other characters, but I am about to take collection (in the next week or so) of a(n almost) complete (though unfinished) Snowtrooper costume from a friend. This will be my first time completing a set of armour - the plastic parts are fairly new to me - so I will be asking a LOT of silly questions, and probably missing some very obvious points but please have patience and forgive my ignorance!
Anyway, I am a 35 year old bloke in the cold North East of England, married to a very understanding wife, and two wonderful children. I'm a lifelong Star Wars and Sci-fi fan and a costumer and collector.
The first movie I ever saw at the cinema was The Empire Strikes Back, and the iconic characters there spoke to me somehow - The Snowtroopers in particular seemed so much more imposing and spectacular than the standard imperial troops.
So here I am, trying to become one!!
Anyway, enough rambling - Thank you for allowing me to join you all here, and I hope to get to know you all better soon.
Tom
