Greetings from Clermont (Orlando)**6/8 Update**

Post by mskinner »

Hello everyone. My name is Matt and I'm starting the process of joining the 501st. I'm 43, married with one daughter, and have lived in Florida (an Ohio transplant) for 20 years. I was referred to the 501st by another recent 501st recruit I work with, TB 8793. He first told me about what the 501st was about a year ago. I got to see the 501st in action at Megacon this year, picked up the flyer, and have been slowly gathering information on building myself a set or two of armor. I'll be the first to admit I have zero skill in creating things but I can figure out how to put just about anything together provided I can acquire the parts.

My first choice for a suit is of course the Snowtrooper/Commander. I've signed up with multiple detachment forums and have been reading them for most of the day to get an idea of how to assemble the various armors. Worst case scenario I'm hoping to have a suit ready and approved by next year's Megacon. Best case scenario well, would be ready and approved by Celebration but I'm not holding my breath on that one :) Hopefully by the end of the year, I'll have one built and approved. If anyone has any hints, tips, or tricks not listed in any sticky post, feel free to advise me. Thank you for reading this and I look forward to joining the 501st as a Snowtrooper.

Got the email yesterday. TI 6014 is approved. Still working on the TS suit though so hopefully I'll be submitting that by the end of summer. I'll also be submitting as an IG once my GML gets me all set up with everything else.
