Hey all,

Figured I should post here, I am hoping to death that I will be able to get some armor soon..but that depends on if I make a sale at the moment.

But other then that, I at least have a pair of Mukluks I aquired from a Canadian..living in Alaska, so they are pretty well weathered, I just took off the Rings/cloth that held them in place. Hopfully going to get the proper straps and such to finnish them off.

So yea, I am really planning on doing this! Thanks!

I've been searching through the forums, and I couldnt really find a clear answer concerning the boot straps. I managed to get some 1 1/4" elastic straps tonight (I tried to find nylon but I feel these have a close look as well). Anyways, I wanted to get your guy's opinions on wether or not it looks 'right,' I'm not 100% sure.

Also, I was wondering if anyone has a recommended measurement for the distance between them or if you just eyeball it. Last thing would be the recommended rivets to use..I couldn't find any, at least at walmart, and the only other rivet's I ever used have a hole in them. I searched for these, and couldnt find an answer. Thanks!

I am trying the Tea-dying method at the moment...going to let them sit in there for a day or so...

Welcome dude.

I think I recognise your name from TDH?
You don't go out looking for a job dressed like that do you? On a weekday?
Is this a, what day is this?

You might like to run by an army/navy surplus store, and pick up a couple white web belts for your boot straps. Three ought to cover it, if you go that route.

I found cotton 1.25" straps which take staining well. As for spacing, see the PB page on boots:

Well, isn't it funny that the box for the elastic bands I got states that it's 1 1/4" wide, when in reality, it's only 1" :ugh:

They picked up the tea color well, at least..but I was thinking about getting something more accurate, and this is my chance to get some nylon. What kind of cotten straps did you get, and where?

How wide are the military belts? Be great If they are 1.25"

I found the cotton straps at a local fabric store.

Hmm..I can't say off the top of my head. I'm sitting here looking at my Army ACU belt..perfect material, but it's too wide, but I'm sure I can find something that is of equal size..

Actually..I just measured my class A's belt, and it is exactly 1 1/4 inches wide. I can confidently say that the other regulation belts will be the same width, because they all have the same style/size belt buckle. I'll go out and find a good regulation belt to use.
